Being an effortless gent has a lot to do with refining and improving your style. It’s our site’s namesake and our main focus.

My hope, though, is that your newfound attention and investment in your outward appearance goes further. That it will inspire you to invest in other parts of your life as well.

When you dress well, you feel good. And when the positive changes you make elicit a favorable response from others, you feel motivated to keep it going and improve in other ways.

To work out more consistently. To eat and drink well. To travel more. To step outside your comfort zone. To learn something new.

We’ve focused on a few of those things in the past. And ideally we can do more in the future. But today, I’ll focus on learning.

A lot of people think education ends the day you graduate… but it shouldn’t.

If you’re an effortless gent, you’re intent on bettering your life in all ways. You continue to learn and educate yourself… not just on one topic.

Sure, building your expertise is important. But you should expand your knowledge on a wide variety of subjects, whatever you may be interested in.

I teamed up with our friends at Udemy

Travel Hacking: Cheap, Smart, and Fun Travel

Travel Hacking: Cheap, Smart, and Fun Travel by Jimmy Naraine is a must if you’ve always had the itch to travel, but find yourself coming up with excuse after excuse as to why you can’t.

Travel isn’t as dangerous or scary as you think. Nor is it as expensive as you’d assume… Well, it doesn’t have to be, at least.

Building a Personal Brand

You spend so much time sprucing up your résumé. You tinker with it and rework it until it’s perfect. And you should – it represents YOU in the job market.

Your personal brand is a lot like your résumé. It’s a representation of you, your expertise, and your authority. Unlike a résumé, it has the potential to score you much more than just a job (if done correctly).

Building a Personal Brand by Gary Vaynerchuk is a crash course on building your personal brand. You’ll learn how to establish yourself as a leader and expert in your field.

I’ve been following Gary Vee since a little before he published Crush It!, a book that gave me the push to start this little site. He’s been an inspiration since.

Never stop learning

This is just a sampling of courses that Udemy offers. There’s so much more, from web design to pet care, language to self defense.

Whatever you’re interested in, I hope you never stop learning. Acquiring new knowledge and skills – and never being complacent and sedentary – is critical to being an effortless gent.

Local community colleges (even state schools and universities) can only offer a finite number of courses… not to mention, enrollment can be pricey.

If there’s a certain subject that interests you, there’s a good chance you’ll find a reputable course on Udemy. And you won’t pay anywhere near university-level costs.

Check out the courses I mentioned above. Let me know which ones interest you!

If prompted, just use code effortlessgentudemy at checkout.

When you click through to any of them, you’ll also have the option to further explore other courses that catch your interest and get a sweet EG discount on those as well 🙂
