Sometimes we just want our clothing to be straight to the point—reliable with no frills.

I cannot remember an article that I have written where I did not recommend something from Uniqlo – for the price point, it really is as good as it gets.

I can personally attest to the quality of this shirt jacket as I was gifted a sample by someone at the brand (don’t tell on me!).

I’ve been wearing this around in secret since last summer and it is such a well-crafted statement piece.

The corduroy fabric is strong enough to keep you warm, and should the temperatures dip below 60, the bright pink will keep you feeling hot all season long.

LL Bean Signature 1933 Chamois Cloth Shirt

Chamois is one of the most comfortable fabrics that you can put on your body.

Made with woven Portuguese flannel, chamois feels like a buttery blanket, made to age gracefully. J.Crew and L.L.Bean make the best chamois shirts, and the 1933 is probably my favorite of the two brands’ offerings.

You can’t go wrong with any color—it’s a matter of personal preference. Like most shirt jackets, it can be worn as a standalone piece or under another layer.

Abercrombie & Fitch Vegan Suede Shirt Jacket

Run, don’t walk, to the Abercrombie website to snag yourself this suede shirt jacket.

Made with vegan suede, this camel tan shacket will make you feel like a million bucks, despite the sub-$100 price tag. If you get over to the site (or a store if you’re lucky) in time, you’ll be able to get it for the $84 sale price, assuming it isn’t already sold out.

Wythe Washed Madras Workshirt

New York-based Wythe is one of my favorite new brands on the market.

The brand provides nostalgic pieces from bygone eras. I can go on and on, but it sounds better directly from the founders:

Carb Studios is another of my favorite new brands on the scene, seeking to achieve a luxurious California atmosphere through their minimal, high-quality clothing.

This oversized shirt can be worn as a standalone shirt or as an outerwear piece. I like the more muted green – they call it “moss”– as opposed to a stronger, trendier green like a forest or a neon green.

This sage shade will go with more clothing in your closet, and is a good way to inject some color while sporting an otherwise safe outfit of neutrals. It’s so damn chill. I love the way it’s modeled on the site, over a ribbed tank with black pants.

This would work as well at the office as it will at the club on a Friday night.

Séfr Faux Leather Shirt Jacket

Leather has been having a big moment recently. If you’ve been on the hunt for a simple and accessible leather-look piece, look no further than this shirt jacket from Séfr.

The faux leather allows the piece to be (relatively) attainable with its $250 price tag, much cheaper than a real leather shirt of this cut and design.

All of the TikTok kids are wearing Dickies 874 pants these days. This shirt is one of the best value shirt jackets on the market. It’s made with flex material, so you can move around easily (some customers complain that the pants are hard to move around in).
